I appreciate your writing and teaching style.  May God continue to bless you in your ministry.

I also appreciate your teaching on the widow's gift.  Thanks for reminding everyone of the importance of reading an entire passage in its intended context.

God Bless

Thank you so much for your well written work. It is what i have been trying to tell my friend. She has inherited money and wants to help the poor, and other needy people, but is told by the church, that she must pay tithes first. I will print this off and give it to her. God bless you so much. You have really helped me out a lot.  Tanya

great article on tithing. I've learned the truth on tithing when God led me the book of Hebrews. I thank God for opening up my eyes to the truth. God's people perish because of a lack of  knowledge. The truth shall set us free. Those who want to be free shall  ask, seek, and find.

I want to thank you for this site.  May true followers of Jesus stand up and strongly refute false teaching. (Titus 2:15)  May God raise up TV, Radio, ministers, and churches that can teach and model this to the body of Christ.

Thanks,
Jeff

I am like the Bereans and I search the Scriptures myself and have came to the same conclusions. This topic is very frustrating and its sad that so many teach it and stand blinded to the truth and only believe what is told to them from the pulpit. I greatly appreciate your efforts keep up the good work of the Lord.

Interesting teaching. I have purchased a flat and have mostly tithed in my work life. However I will test God and if I still cannot afford to tithe I will reduce my giving to suit.

You have some good interesting points.

Thanks

I have always been concerned with the current day teachings of tithing. I laid this question to GOD many years ago. It was not until 3 weeks ago that he answered as we are preparing to open another church. My wife who is also a pastor responded as most would. She bucked the concept that tithing is not part of current day Christianity instead the act of giving from the heart has replaced it. This is a tough pill to swallow for many Christians who do not want to be in disobedience of GOD. One of the first lessons we will teach will be giving not tithing. We hope that this message will resound throughout the entire area and we can expand the teaching to other locations thus breaking the stronghold many who are called Pastor have on the children of GOD

I am grateful to you for exposing this acts of Tithing in the church, I for one am not in favor of this because we are limiting our giving to God. I was a member of a church before and left because, one of the rules in preaching the word of God in the pulpit, is that you must be a tither. Since I am a Christian Educator I teach what the bible teaches and from what I've learned from godly men.

Thank you for exposing the truth on Tithing.  These "doctrines of devils" is running rampant in the church and appealing to the selfish.

Amazing! Well written! Thank you! We are struggling financially but abound in other blessings. It is nice to know we should give what we can and looking out for the poor is better than tithing. I enjoy sharing my garden produce and my flowers with poor or poor in spirit. I will take praising God and thanking him for the blessing of the roses filling my yard over a massive bank account any day.
I will also take the joy of spending all we can to mail boxes and church services to our troops overseas over a big bank account any day. Again, thank you.

How can I say "Thank you"??? I looked up the other verses (Luke 21:1-4). They don't seem to be connected to anything else in the chapter, so I backed up to the end of chapter 20 and found that it runs parallel to Mark 12! The Bible was not divided into chapters until the 1200's - I believe they erred in Luke. They say that context is everything and when taken in context, you are right - Jesus wasn't using the widow as an example of how to give, but how the scribes were devouring widows' houses...

Thank you! Bless you! I have been re-dedicating myself to the word of God. I find myself in odd  situations in church because of what I'm studying and understanding is being taught different. I don't want to come against my church's vision ,but it's hard to keep quiet and continue to sit still in service. I pray that the church break protocol and re-tool itself with the truth.          Anthony

Thanks for your web-page. I'm am currently wrestling with the the whole tithe issue and searching the scripture for any shred of instruction where we as the new testament church have been ordered to continue in the Levitical priesthood laws. I definitely can't find it if it is in there. I know that it will cause me ministry problems if I choose to stop tithing but I have never been afraid to "rock the boat". I haven't been able to take my family on a suitable vacation for many years but do see those recipients of my tithing taking several trips a year. Thanks again.

Today, we came to the end of our checking and credit accounts. In
order to keep tithing 10% while in huge debt. I asked GOD - "now what?".
I typed in to Google - "no money to tithe" and your page appeared. I
wondered why the LORD has let this go on for 2 years. It may be that GOD
wanted us to fine tune our spending of his money, in other words, on
needless waste and wants.
We seemed to be going more into debt as we continued tithing. After
going over your website, both my wife and I will verify your information
in the Bible.
I always gave hoping GOD would provide, but now there is no
more. At this point we will reduce our offering to keep the account in
the black and increase as GOD provides or debts reduce. Thank You for
Your Website.

Thank God, He showed me the truth! I knew something was wrong about tithing and giving, I just didn't know what. Thank you for this teaching that has set me free. I am passing this information along to everyone I can and I know it will change their life as it has mine. Thanks again, Friend. Helen

I was an adamant tither.  I felt that if you didn't tithe you were cursed.  As I read your information, I see a new light.  I have asked questions about tithing to other churches and to other church pastors but they couldn't help me.  Your website has answered my questions. Thanks.

Interesting...I have been in the ministry for over 22 years. I never cared much for sermons on tithing. I had a church treasurer that was always telling me that I needed to "preach on tithing", my answer to her was simple...If you feel there "ain't" enough money then you give more. People are giving what they can...We used to sing a song in church...just a simple chorus that repeated itself..."give what you give and give it in Jesus name".

I am A preacher of the Gospel for 27 years. It wasn't until a year ago that I found out that tithing was truly not for us today. I have been reading my bible for over 40 years. Only when I left church for various doctrinal reasons did I understand what the scriptures was simply saying.
Trying to explain this to people is almost impossible. They have been trained to only believe their pastors. Yours in Christ. E. Glover

Thank  you for the information provided.  I always feel guilty when I am not able to help or give more due to my own financial situation.

Praise the Lord He is great and sees what men cannot see.

Thank you for the time of exposing this lie to fellow believers, I was born a Jamaica but I live in London England, in the last few years in London 2 Large Black Majority churches has had financial scandals here in London. Some of these pastor have the guts to preach this lie to simple Christians whilst lining there own pockets, but those people who do not check scripture for themselves Acts 17:11 nor ask for financial accountability.

Thanks Mike

I 100% agree with your responses towards the tithe.
I am literally sickened with the church today on how they put other believers into condemnation if they don't tithe.

I have been first handedly thrown out of church ministry because they found out I didn't tithe nor believe in it.  I even tried to show my pastor actually proof from the bible..but he literally walked away from me and left me hanging.

It's a complete example of how the church in general has come too. Oh by the way, the church was Apostolic.

Most believers will not believe that their pastors have been lieing to them since they were kids.  The only way they can believe is if they choose to actually "read" the bible for themselves and not believe everything their pastor says to them.

God is already blessing you for reading the truth and guess what,  you don't have to shell out a dime for it.  :)
